Yesterday morning a friend called Jeff and Andre Shinabarger and said, “I was watching CNN and I heard about people collecting gift cards, then redistributing them to people in need.  I thought someone stole your great idea, then there you were!  It IS your great idea.”  An editor/producer, Natalie Snedden, heard about Gift Card Giver and was interested in doing a story on CNN.  They had recently run a story where a public figure raised gift cards to donate to charity, but then spent the gift cards to buy electronics for his family.  She loved Gift Card Giver’s philosophy of never using a gift card for any other purpose than to help others in need.  She came to Gift Card Giver’s Silent Auction event, interviewed friends of Gift Card Giver, went with Jeff and Andre to give items they were able to purchase with gift cards for a cause here in Atlanta, and sat down with Jeff and Andre to hear their story.  We wanted to share the link with you, so you can watch the story on CNN.  It is so encouraging that in this time of economic trouble that Gift Card Giver continues to be able to help others in need.  We could not do it without people generously giving their gift cards, so THANK YOU for donating cards to us all year long that have enabled us to help 54 organizations and individuals this year.  The year is not finished yet!  We’re excited to be able to do even more in the week and a half we have until the New Year, so keep the cards coming!  We promise to do something good with them!
